A Mediterranean port city in Egypt, Alexandria is one of the greatest cities of the Hellenistic world. The city was named after the former king of Macedonia, Alexander the Great. 1. Alexandria National Museum:  

Being inaugurated on 1st September 2003, Alexandria National Museum is one of the most erratic ones in the world. The museum's stunning architecture tells the tale of Egypt through its various eras. The Ptolemy Dynasty, which Alexander the Great established, ruled over Alexandria and Egypt during the period represented by artefacts can also be seen. 2. Montazah Gardens:

3. Pompey’s Pillar:

6. Fort Qaitbey: 

Guarding Alexandria’s eastern harbor since 1480, Fort Qaitbey can be witnessed by taking a walk around the long shorefront of Corniche Road. By ascending to the top of the fort, which has stone-walled chambers lining its interior, visitors can get a bird's-eye view of the Mediterranean Sea.

8. St. Mark’s Coptic Cathedral: 

St. Mark’s Coptic Cathedral was founded by the Pope of Alexandria, head of Coptic Orthodox Church. The church was dedicated to the St. Mark the Evangelist the founder of Coptic Orthodox church where his antiques were kept. In 68 AD, St. Mark was martyred and buried under the church he had founded. Visiting here will give you a sense of purity and calmness.
